"His Way"...... or the highway?

I am unsure why I didn't publish last year, but I didn't, so here it is: The phrase "His way or the highway" is not in the bible, but I can see that it has some truth to it. We cannot delay, change or even stop what God's plan is for our lives. He will continue His plan, we can either gracefully step out of the way, allow Him to use us cheerfully or be kicking& screaming as He continues. My husband and I have had some changes in our life, that were all completely God's will, I do believe. I spent time fighting the inevitable and guess what even though I kicked and screamed God got the Glory and; His Way. Now that the BIG changes that affect us intimately such as living apart (for his job), selling our house, moving to a new town, my job changes and so forth, we can look back & say Thank You! Thank you, for taking care of us in spite of our doubt, fear, and begging for the changes not to occur. Thank you for giving us to each other, so we would have each other through this time in our lives, marriage and being able to say to each other, "look what God did for us and most importantly for His Kingdom. Now with all that behind us, next time we have to make adjustments to our lives, will we remember that He has a plan & that His Kingdom will be glorified? We will remember that His way is the only way, the best way or "His way or the highway." The highway can get us going quick and fast to where we want to go, it can provide exits where we can see beautiful earthly things, but we often get lost on the highway. "His way" is proven to me multiple times that "His Way" is paved for me. He show me His love for me and He buckles me in tight and secure so when the road He has paved may have dips and bumps I will be safe on His Highway to.......... Heaven. Yes I did just type that I do enjoy the smooth road of "His way" better that than the dips and bumps, but I know that "His way" is the only way. When we are on His road, He will use us to reach others and encourage them to make a U-Turn, and join us to fill up His house. "And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23 "And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it." Isaiah 35:8

God's Purpose for Us

Rich and I have been struggling with major life changing decisions. Rich has been in Houston since August 1st coming home every other weekend, where we have been fixing up our house to put on the market. We have been looking at houses via internet and talking with each other over the phone. He has looked at homes and we have not felt any peace about any of them.

I feel as if we are going in slow motion and that we can't make any decisions. God is causing us to hesitate, and I wish I knew why. Everything we believe is logical and wise is not what we should do. I have lost the spark and excitement I felt when we first knew that this was God's will for us even though we were scared of the drastic change.

My job has not panned out how I had wanted and I am considering some options with them and without them. I have not felt any peace about any of it, I am clueless of what I should do next. I know we are following His will I just wish we could have a little insight of what He has planned for us.

My Life Change

I am recovering from a complete hysterectomy that I had on March 10th. I am pleasantly surprise of the progress I have made. The pain lasted about 6 days, the hormones haven't been so bad (well ask Rich for complete accuracy) biggest issue is the lack of sleeping at night and the tiredness. The tiredness first I will have all the intentions in the world and start something then I must lay down and rest. UGH, I am not old, is this how our 80 and up elderly feel? Oh my gosh I have a whole new compassion for them. I drove for the first time this past Friday and did well, but I was exhausted by the end of the day. Saturday I had a great day, until tonight when I once again find I can not sleep.

This sleep thing has been an issue for some time now long before the surgery. If I have a drop of caffeine it will keep me up, which I avoid with great effort. I do not want to take a sleeping aid, because then I would need an upper in the morning, I could end of like Elvis or Marilyn. You know beginning a celebrity and all..... ok I digress. So as I type this silly post in my sleep deprived state, I have realized that my relationship with God continues to be closer because I am talking to Him more. Well, maybe my fussing and begging Him to put me to sleep, isn't what He really enjoys, but I am conversing without ceasing............

Frustration

I have found myself really falling into the Bible more than usual and I have been retaining more than ever before. I also find myself praying without much ceasing, and I feel that I am briskly walking closer to God everyday. Well, except today!

I am so frustrated and I realize that I am not being logical about some events that have occurred to me personally. My frustration is not with God, but sort of it is too. I have been working at something so hard & have found success with it, but now a hiccup has made me feel that my effort is for not. Do I realize rational that all my effort will be and has been blessed yes I do. I suppose I just need to get over myself and seek how this new occurrence can be used for His Glory.

I have been feeling that God is preparing me for something, I don't believe that this is it, but I wish I had a clearer view of what it could be.

Shopping Today

I drove down to Houston for work today & I did a little shopping on the trip. I was so excited to find a size 14 dress and it fits perfectly. I was shocked and so happy, I also bought a pair of pants that are 18 and they fit but not comfortable so they are going back. I find that very frustrating because why can't they make the size more consistent. I think that I really wear a 16 at this point, so I should be able to try on a 16 that would fit, maybe not to my body shape, but the size should be consistent.

Ok, there is my fussing for the night

Weight

I have asked myself for many years, I wonder why some people struggle with their weight, well mainly why do I? Selfish I suppose, since people have unexpected issues. I am aware of mine on a daily basis, but I have worked harder this time around to losing, as of last week (I am only weighing every couple of weeks) I had lost 37 pounds since Thanksgiving, I know WOW!

Three meals a day, no snacks, ugh! I have made thru Thanksgiving to the Super Bowl Party yesterday, so I think that is pretty good. I have had a couple of "stress/emotional" induced snacks. One thing I have realized about myself is that I am definitely an emotional eater. There have been like in our lives some times these few months that I have felt stressed/emotional then I find myself wanting to eat something or anything. Well, I have only had a couple of weak moments, but I didn't even do bad when I did fall to the temptations. I hope to post again about the weight loss is even better.

I have dropped from a size 22 and 20 to a 16, so I am quickly running out of clothes, but I just don't want to buy a new wardrobe until it begins to warm up. I have bought a couple of things, but not much, so maybe I will go down to at least a 14 before I need to buy spring/summer clothes. I will continue to pray that God will give me the desire and motivation to loss until I am healthier.

Today

I stayed up way to late working on classes for work, scheduling, algebra and a little facebooking (really just a little.) I miss Rich terribly when I am out of town, but I have found that I enjoy this time. I am absolutely not saying I would rather be alone, not at all, but those minutes that I am not working on something at the hotel I find myself in peace. Peace with God, knowing His presence is here with me in this room. I think in the hustle & bustle of rushing to take care of work and my self inflicted obligations I forget He is waiting on me to see Him in all of it. I need to give Him my time, not my obligations, don't misunderstand I am not saying I should be irresponsible. Why can't I make Him the focus of why I am successful at times, He is the reason he gave me the talent, the desire and He made me in His image. I am unable to accomplish anything with out Him being the reason. I realize that there are people that are successful without a thought or acknowledgement of their Maker; they are not allowing God to be their Hero rather than themselves. I know when I pat myself on the back for a job well done, that I had Cheerleader that says, thank you for using the gifts I have given to you to glorify Me.

Gosh I sure know what I should do; I have the most awesome Book of directions, the Bible. I wonder why I still think that what I do is about me and my talents instead of about Him and His talents. God is Grace & Mercy and I am so grateful for His forgiveness.
